New owners thought we would try Sunday lunch. No menu available , had to wait until staff came to the table. Asked for menu, told that they would read it out to us. No Carvery available despite FB advertising saying that it was. Apparently, three weeks later still not available) Food was served quickly. Obviously prepped in advance and microwaved. The vegetables were like molten lava outside , yet cold inside. Meat was still at fridge chilled temperature. Having finished eating , we were ignored for twenty minutes whilst staff argued among themselves , whilst stood at the bar, about the Till, which seemed to be malfunctioning. No dessert menu offered . Eventually after 25 mins sat with dirty...
Just returned from a wonderful Sunday roast lunch at the Olway. Exceptional food we had the roast beef mine beautifully rare and our guest well done. The other guests had slow roast pork so tender with wonderful crispy crackling. The vegetables were excellent wonderful range and not over cooked. Moreover, the Olway is very wheelchair friendly with flat entry and toilet access from the tables in the bar. Excellent service and great atmosphere too. Will definitely return.
Just rang to book a table for Sunday lunch in September for the family. Twelve of us. Straight away we were dismissed and told he was far too short staffed to accommodate us! They are fully booked nearly every Sunday with early more than twelve people eating in the bar and restaurant. Just saw a review from July and you had a table of 9 for Sunday lunch. We just wanted three more spaces Doesn’t make people feel very welcome.
We came across Olway whilst searching for a night away option. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff we so accommodating, obliging, helpful and made suggestions on places to visit which we did. Front of house staff were fantastic, owners were very welcoming. Our room was lovely and comfortable with everything you could need. The food we had for our evening meal was outstanding. Have definitely found my new favourite place for a lovely homemade Sunday lunch Had lamb and the meat was absolutely stunning. huge portions. A lovely warm cosy pub, lovely atmosphere and the staff are all lovely nothing too much trouble at all. would highly recommend and will definitely be a regular now. thank you ever so much.
A very warm welcome, lovely clean room with beautiful views, amazing breakfast. Busy dining area in the evening and although I didn’t eat that evening, diners appeared to be very complimentary. Will return!
Just what I wanted. A comfortable B&B, warm hospitality and good food. Room clean, quiet and set away from bar. Plenty of car parking.
